Area construction-related businesses are invited to sign up for a vendor fair hosted by Dearborn Public Schools on Jan. 26 from 5:30 to 7 p.m.
The fair will allow district staff and experts to detail how the bidding process works, explain the bonding process for businesses interested in working with the district, and help provide networking for area businesses interested in subcontracting for some projects happening in the district. The district expects to award more than $40 million in contracts over the next year or so.
This event will also include representatives from construction manager Clark Construction and IDS Architects.
Businesses interested in participating are asked to sign up at https://bit.ly/DbnVendorFair1-26-22. The fair will be held at the district’s Administrative Service Center, 18700 Audette St., Dearborn.
The vendor fair is intended for contractors such as heating, ventilation, and air conditioning; roofing including flat, conventional shingle, and specialty roofs; interior building restoration and remodeling; exterior building maintenance; asphalt and concrete paving; water main replacement; exterior electrical service replacement; storm sewer improvements; and kitchen related work including outdoor freezer units and interior vent hood installations.
More information about how to bid and a link to any current bids the district requests is available on the district website under Doing Business with Dearborn Public Schools.
The district held its first vendor fair of the school year in November.
“We know local businesses are interested in working for the district, and we would love to support our community,” said Mark Andrews, Dearborn Schools Director of Operations. “We hope by educating local contractors about our state-required bidding process and the mandated bonding process, we can help these businesses connect more with the district.”
