Dear Parents and/or Guardians,
I hope that you have enjoyed your summer vacation and that your family is doing well. Mrs. Turfe and I have been working hard over the past few weeks to organize the start of the school year. We are attending district leadership team meetings to learn how best to support your child and our teachers. We will be meeting with teachers next week for professional development and to discuss other vital components of the school year. We will continue to update families with information about the start of the school year when those details are finalized. Most, if not all, communications will be sent to parents via email and/or posted on the school website.
We continue to encourage parents to stay involved and work with us to support their child’s academic, social and emotional development. We recognize that in order to be successful in school, children need support from both the home and school. We know that a strong partnership with you will make a great difference in your child’s education.
I would like to give you a number of updates regarding school this fall:
- Student Schedules: Student schedules will be made available to parents electronically through ParentConnect on Monday, August 23rd. If you are unable to access your ParentConnect account, please contact the Bryant Office at (313) 827-2900 and somebody will help you with username and password information. Students can also access his/her schedule through StudentConnect. Students can also pick up a paper copy of their schedule during one of the upcoming visitation days.
- Virtual Parent/Student Orientation: There will be a virtual parent meeting on Monday, August 23, 2021 @ 6:00 p.m. We will briefly discuss student expectations, the district mitigation plan and other important information about the start-up of the school year. - Visitation Days: Students will be assigned a day to visit the school before the first day of classes on Monday, August 30. Students and one parent will be allowed to enter the building so they can find where their classes meet, practice opening their locker and visit other areas of the building. A few teachers have volunteered to be in attendance to assist with the event. A paper copy of each student’s schedule will be available. Students will be assigned certain times to reduce the amount of foot traffic in the building. Please keep in mind that anybody who enters the building is required to wear a mask.
- 8th graders: Tuesday, August 24th @ 4 – 7:00 p.m.
- 7th graders: Wednesday, August 25th @ 4 – 7:00 p.m.
- 6th graders: Thursday, August 26th @ 4 – 7:00 p.m.
