Parents, students and community members are invited to chat about Dearborn Public Schools with Superintendent Glenn Maleyko at any of a series of upcoming events starting Nov. 16 at Lindbergh Elementary.
The informal events are called Chatting with the Superintendent, and they provide a way for the public to hear updates and ask questions about what is happening in the district. In addition to Dr. Maleyko, several executive directors in the district will also hold similar events. At each of the events, a team of administrators will be available to help answer questions on a variety of topics.
The meetings are open to all community members, district staff, students and parents. Parents are welcome to attend any of the Chatting events, even if their child attends a different school.
By design, Chatting events are less formal than school board meetings, providing an opportunity for interactive conversations on a variety of school-related topics.
“I appreciate the opportunity to talk with our community and provide individuals with the big picture story of our district, to listen to their thoughts and comments, and hopefully to answer any questions they may have for me or our administrative team,” Dr. Maleyko said. “I have held Chatting events for most of my eight years as superintendent. We have discovered this relaxed setting encourages open dialog and leads to good conversations and the sharing of ideas.”
