PTA Email Blast – December Events and Reminders

LESS THAN ONE WEEK LEFT TO SELL RAFFLE TICKETS!

And then you won’t have to hear any more about selling the tickets – YAY!  The success of the PTA depends on this raffle!

Check this out!

We have already sent the Football team on a field trip – paid entirely by the PTA.

We are looking to send another “after school activity group” on a field trip in the Spring.

We want to help lower costs of class field trips by paying for buses.

We have already committed to paying for a Pizza Night during the 8th grade trip.

We have already committed to buying chaperone t-shirts for the 8th grade trip.

Wouldn’t it be nice to have enough PTA money so that we could raffle off a student trip and/or a chaperone trip?  Well, it’s only a wish until we bring in enough money for everything else!

There are so many possibilities of wonderful things that we can do by making this raffle a huge success!

Detroit Pistons Fundraiser

This began Monday November 26th when the Detroit Pistons Organization put on two assemblies for the students.  The students had a great time and were able to participate in friendly competitions. Some students even won sets of tickets to a Detroit Pistons game!

Your student had an opportunity to bring home a flyer to sell tickets to the game on Friday January 18th when the Pistons take on the Miami Heat!  There are two alternative games to choose from as well.  For every ticket sold, the Bryant PTA receives $5.00 back.  Last year we made $1200!

The flyer is attached.  Online purchasing is preferred.  The tickets make great Christmas Presents, Stocking Stuffers, Hostess Gifts, White Elephant Gift Exchange Gifts, Birthday Gifts, or just a Fun Night with your Family!

All ticket orders are due January 11, 2019.

PTA Meeting

This month’s PTA meeting was very short – only about 10 minutes.  It was mainly a few quick updates and announcements.  Meeting Minutes are attached.

Chatting With The Superintendent

Immediately following the PTA Meeting on Monday, Dr. Maleyko held an informal meeting with parents.  We had a great turnout – more than any other of his chats!  That’s because Bryant Parents are the BEST!  It was a great way to talk to him face-to-face.  He didn’t cut the meeting short due to time constraints or how late it was getting.  He let everyone ask their questions and answered them all.  He even took some great suggestions from parents.  The meeting did not end until all topics were discussed.  I highly recommend attending one of these meetings, especially if you are an 8th grade parent.  It’s a great way to share your concerns or ask questions about any changes happening in the high schools.  Here is a link to the Chat Schedule:
