It’s a bird; it’s a plane; it’s a giant, seven story tall hot-air balloon on my kid’s middle school field!
The red, white and blue RE/MAX hot air balloon, 80 feet tall, will tether (weather permitting) at Bryant Middle School, on Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at approximately 8:30 a.m. to illustrate the principles of thermodynamics (how hot air rises) to Bryant 7th graders.
Raad Alawan, a local RE/MAX agent, scheduled the program.
“When I first heard about the hot air balloon available to schools, I knew this would be an exciting presentation for our students,” Alawan said. “McCollough-Unis is scheduled for next spring, and more balloon demonstrations are planned for the future.”
The balloon pilot, Shawn Raya, is a skilled aviator, but is also a great entertainer and educator. He’ll gather the students around to demonstrate the mechanisms that launch and navigate the balloon, as well as a brief history of mankind’s progress in achieving powered flight.
