Dear DHS Marching Band Students and Parents,
We have already started making plans for the DHS 2016 Marching Band Camp! This year’s camp will be held at Adrian College from Sunday, July 31st through Friday, August 5th . The camp gives Marching Band students an intense head start for the fall marching season. Students learn music, practice marching drills, and learn the DHS half-time program to be used during the 2016 football season. This is a great time for new band members to bond and develop friendships with veteran band members!
The cost of camp is $375 per student which covers room and board, instructor fees, and activities for the week. It also includes your BABC membership dues for the year. Additional siblings get a reduced rate of $350 per student. A $55 non-refundable deposit is due no later than February 15th from all students wishing to attend this year’s camp. Two additional $160 payments are due by March 1st and April 12th respectively. A Mandatory Band Camp meeting will be held on Tuesday, April 12th at 7pm in the DHS Media Center. Final payments and camp paperwork (to be distributed the first week of March) are due that evening. A payment schedule with mailing coupons is attached for your convenience.
The BABC will also hold a special New Student Informational Meeting on Tuesday, March 1st from 7:30pm – 8:30pm in the DHS Media Center following our regular monthly BABC meeting which starts at 7pm. We hope our current members will stick around to add support as we answer questions for potential new band members regarding school schedules, DCMST conflicts, and Band Camp in general. Please encourage any incoming band student and their parents to attend! We look forward to another successful DHS Marching Band season!
