Have you thought about the implications of our children always being connected to their peers via cell phones and the internet? Are you concerned about your child’s use of Facebook? Join us April 19th in the auditorium at 6pm. We will be discussing these and other related issues. Together, we can help make sense of the possibilities and pitfalls of our children always “being connected.”
Just a reminder: report cards will be sent home with your child on Thursday, March 25th. Please check his/her backpack.
Don’t forget the book fair this week. The book fair begins today and ends Friday, March 27th.
Congratulations to our 7th and 8th grade bands and the 7th and 8th grade orchestra. Both bands and the orchestra earned a rating of 1 at the District 12 MSBOA Festival on Friday, March 19th. This is the highest rating and allows them to move on to the State Festival.
I had the privilege of watching the 8th grade band. I am always in awe of the talent of our students. Not only did they perform beautifully but they represented Bryant with pride. Excellent job!
Report cards will be sent home with your child on Thursday, March 25th. This is the day of spring, parent-teacher conferences. The teachers have contacted parents to attend. Conferences are from 4:30-7:30pm. Please bring your child’s report card with you.
The Bryant Newsletter for the month of March is available on the website now.
Congratulations to our girls’ volleyball team and boys’ swim team. Both teams had a successful season and are City Champions. Congratulations to our athletes and coaches!
We are dealing with many issues here at school regarding Facebook. Parents: please educate your child and monitor the use of Facebook. Students have been found creating negative groups about our Bryant community members. These groups invite people to bully/harass and intimidate people. This behavior cannot be tolerated but we need your help in monitoring what your child/children publish. Publishing on the internet is an amazing opportunity but it comes with many responsibilities and ramifications. Middle school students need our guidance.
Parent-teacher conferences are March 25th from 4:30-7:30pm. Teachers are contacting the parents of any students struggling.
March 19th marks the end of the 4th marking period. Most teachers will not accept late work after Friday, March 12th. This week is a great time to check parent connect. As the weather gets warm, our children will want to put homework off and can easily get behind.
