As part of our ongoing effort to be a good neighbor and keep an open line of communication with our parents, I would like to take a moment to share information with you regarding an event that took place at our school.
Today, it was brought to our attention that a student had shared a picture of himself in a group chat holding a gun. It was immediately investigated and was determined that the picture was not authentic. The School Resource Officer was informed of the incident and together we met with the student and his parents to discuss the seriousness of this situation.
Please use this event as an opportunity to talk with your children about what is appropriate and what is not appropriate to post on social media. Though social media can be used to share great news and important information, it can also be used to create panic and concern.
