The Bryant girls swim team won the City Meet, capping off an undefeated season. A number of the swimmers have qualified to participate in the Middle School Invitational in Holt Michigan on February 6. The relay of Annabel Gerrity, Katie Stewart, Stella Doverspike and Emma Enquist qualified in both the 200 Medley relay and the 200 Freestyle relay. Stella also qualified in the 100 IM and Emma will be swimming in the 50 Butterfly and the 100 Breaststroke.
We have a number of city champions on the team. Katie Stewart is city champion in the 200 Freestyle and the 500 Freestyle. Stella Doverspike is city champion in the 100 IM. Emma Enquist won the 50 Butterfly and the 100 Breaststroke. Evelyn Bowman is city champion in the 100 Freestyle. The relay of Doverspike, Engquist, Gerrity and Stewart won both the 200 Medley Relay and the 200 Free Relay.
The highlights of the season were multiple records broken by Emma Engquist. Emma broke school records in the 100 Freestyle, 50 Butterfly and 100 Breaststroke!! To top it off, Emma broke two CITY records. She has the fastest time ever in a city meet in Dearborn in both the 50 Butterfly and 100 Breaststroke. The 100 Breaststroke record that Emma broke was set in 1986!
