On Friday, December 19, 2014, Dr. Bashar Salame visited Bryant Middle School to speak with Mrs. Turfe’s students about his journey to the United States when he was a young child. Dr. Salame told students of his early struggles in school and how he worked to overcome language barriers. Dr. Salame graduated from Edsel Ford High School and attended Parker College of Chiropractic. His story was truly an inspiration to our students. In addition to encouraging students to work hard in school, Dr. Salame shared a book that he wrote called “Let’s Change That!: If Animals Can, We Can Too”. Students who attended the presentation were given an autographed copy of his book.
