Dress Code Issues

We have communicated our dress code in the planner, code of conduct and have explained it at the beginning of the year meetings.  The purpose of the dress code is to have a distraction free environment.  Adolescence is a difficult time for our children.  They are growing rapidly, dealing with hormones and beginning to have more freedom than when they were in elementary school.  It is important that our students realize that, right now, school is their job and they must dress for success.  Not all fashions are appropriate for school.

The two recurring issues are leggings/jeggings and yoga pants that fit like tights on the girls and sagging pants on the boys.  Please make sure pants are loose fitting.  If the pants fit like tights or leggings the student must have a sweater/skirt that covers the majority of the thigh.  Basically, if a student is wearing skin tight yoga pants, they will be sent to the office to call home for different clothes.

Sagging pants are not allowed.  The waist of the pants must be hip level or higher.  If boxers or shorts are showing, the student will be sent to the office to call home for a belt or change of clothes.

Thank you very much for your support.
